The images below are my work and are the building blocks for Diaphanous, a proposed installation of large silk panels. Based on archival documents, these panels will explore the visual history of ornate textile design through the medium of printmaking. These panels will be installed so that the audience can experience them from various directions and lighting scenarios, and because the silk panels are semi-transparent, this will encourage the overlapping of the elements on the panels and also of the panels themselves.

This project will utilize some of the existing woodblocks below along with new designs. The printing will be both woodblock and silkscreen. Some imperfections in these printings is encouraged. The transparent quality of the inks varies, as does the order and print technique, which can lead to unexpected yet beautiful results.
